It’s the week before Halloween! Hopefully, you are mostly ready for the holiday. I say mostly ready because it seems that no matter how diligently you prepare, there is always something overlooked.
This week, you will hopefully just be wrapping up loose ends, buying more candy, or dealing with party invitations or requests from school teachers to help with the class parties. In our house, we are doing all of the above. More →

Week Two has arrived! Are you ready for the holidays?
Let’s face it: holidays and celebrations are a huge party of having children. Not only will you have to organize your own holiday celebrations, but your children are sure to be invited to different parties and events during the next few months which will also require preparation.
For today’s post, we’re just going to center in on Halloween. Tomorrow’s post will concentrate on Christmas.

When I lived north of the Mason Dixon line, the imaginary line that divides the Southern and Northern USA, my favorite season was Fall. I loved to watch the leaves change colors and I enjoyed the cooler days and nights.
I now live on the southern portion of coastal Virginia and I’ve found that the leaves really don’t change color here. They turn a sort of orangish-brown sometime in late October and then just give up the ghost and fall off the tree in January. That’s pretty much it.
